NEWLY MINTED:

YAMA WARSHI

ALICE BOYD

FRESH BANDS, FREE ENTRY

26 SEP | THE IVY HOUSE

Newly Minted is a season of free entry shows dedicated to unearthing the very best of the UK’s independent emerging music scene.

Funded by The Arts Council, from July – September, we’ll be taking over some of London’s best independent music venues (The Pickle Factory, Ivy House, Shacklewell Arms) and putting a spotlight on a selection of the UK’s most exciting new artists.

For this night, we bring you Yama Warashi and Alice Boyd at Ivy House!

Led by Japanese artist Yoshino Shigihara, Yama Warashi’s eclectic, joyful sound draws inspiration from Japanese folk dance, free jazz, tribal African music, and psychedelia to create something uniquely their own.

Alice Boyd is a singer-songwriter and sound artist based between south London and Bristol. Intertwining folk-inspired harmonies, ambient electronics and field recordings, Alice’s work draws attention to the often unnoticed sounds of our environments. From making music with plants, through to recording underwater insects, Alice invites us to explore our interconnectedness with the natural world.
