NEWLY MINTED:

HELEN GANYA

SHREDD

FRESH BANDS, FREE ENTRY

16 JULY | SHACKLEWELL ARMS

Newly Minted is a season of free entry shows dedicated to unearthing the very best of the UK’s independent emerging music scene.

Funded by The Arts Council, from July – September, we’ll be taking over some of London’s best independent music venues (The Pickle Factory, Ivy House, Shacklewell Arms) and putting a spotlight on a selection of the UK’s most exciting new artists.

For this night, we bring you Helen Ganya and Shredd at Shacklewell Arms!

By experimenting with existentially-driven lyrics and off-kilter sounds, Scottish-Thai artist Helen Ganya creates layered musical landscapes that you will want to revisit again and again.

Shredd are a psychedelic garage rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. Their unique sound and wild live show have gained them the reputation as one of the tightest – and loudest – bands in the U.K.

Having supported the likes of Fontaines D.C., Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and VLURE, the band has quickly built a cult fanbase. Their debut album, ‘The Place Unknown’, was released in December 2022 and has been described as ‘an assured beast’ by The Scotsman, ‘a cacophonic sonic adventure’ by Tenement TV and tipped by The Skinny to be ‘the soundtrack to the moshpits of Glasgow’s DIY venues’.
