“A string duo bound for glory” – Max Reinhardt, BBC Radio 3
After a truly spectacular show at The Old Baths in 2020, violin and cello duo Fran & Flora return to the stage for what promises to be another spellbinding evening at the beautiful Islington Assembly Hall. Support for the night comes from very special guest virtuoso oud player and composer Saied Silbak.
Catching the ears of the likes of Portico Quartet, who have released a remix of their track La Obreja, as well as tastemaker Max Reinhardt, Fran & Flora have grown from strength to strength since the release of their album Unfurl.
Featuring tracks that expertly layer traditional Eastern European compositions with experimental electronics, ambient drones, and vocal processing, Unfurl is an album that is deeply moving and sincerely crafted. Witnessing a live rendition of the album can only be described as an awe-inspiring experience. At Islington Assembly Hall, prepare for the string duo to leave you hanging on to their every note.
Capacity for this evening will be strictly limited due to COVID-19 guidelines.
